Music, Memories and Generosity Take Center Stage at 2026 John Knox Village Gala
More than 550 residents, associates, volunteers, sponsors and community friends came together on Sept. 19 for an evening of celebration, nostalgia and philanthropy at the 2026 John Knox Village Gala, Music & Memories Through the Decades.
Decked out in fashions spanning the 1950s through the 1990s, guests were taken back in time by the creative décor inside The Pavilion, which had been transformed into a vibrant tribute to the music, culture and memories that have shaped generations. Most importantly, they united around a shared purpose: enhancing the lives of residents living with advanced memory loss.
The result was a record-breaking evening that raised more than $355,000 for the Village Care Center memory care unit.
A Record-Breaking Night of Generosity
The event’s success reflected the extraordinary generosity of the Village community. Foundation leaders credit Gala Chairs Jay and Julie Goodman, resident committee members, volunteers, associates and sponsors for helping create an evening that blended entertainment with meaningful impact.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed live music, themed games, food and beverages by John Knox Village Catering, and lively auctions featuring an impressive collection of unique experiences and treasures.

Enhancing Memory Care at the Village Care Center
While the evening was filled with fun and entertainment, the true focus remained on the residents who will benefit from the funds raised.
This year’s project will support enhancements to the Village Care Center memory care unit, creating a more comfortable and purposeful environment for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Planned improvements include engaging sensory rooms, welcoming family spaces, tactile artwork, personalized memory boxes and therapeutic circadian lighting designed to reduce anxiety and support healthy sleep patterns.
The vision for this project extends beyond physical improvements. By incorporating sensory experiences, music, memories and meaningful engagement opportunities, the enhanced spaces will help residents find moments of purpose and connection.
A Community Coming Together
The Foundation expressed deep gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who made the evening possible. Special thanks were extended to the residents who chaired committees and supported the event; associates whose creativity, professionalism and generosity helped bring the gala to life; volunteers who contributed countless hours of service; sponsors whose support strengthened the effort; and community members whose participation helped propel the fundraiser to record success. Their collective efforts embodied John Knox Village’s mission of Enriching Lives and Building Community.

The Foundation also thanked every attendee, donor, bidder and supporter who contributed to the cause. Together, they demonstrated the power of a community coming together to help others. As Foundation leaders noted, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia have touched many families, friends and neighbors. While no one can face those challenges alone, a caring community can make a meaningful difference.
The music may have faded and the costumes may be packed away, but the impact of this year’s gala will continue for years to come. Thanks to the generosity of the Village community and its supporters, residents living with memory loss will benefit from enhanced spaces.
