Eating Good in the JKV Neighborhood

John Knox Village residents are definitely eating good in the Village neighborhood!

Case in point: three of the Village’s seven distinct restaurants featured special dinners to help residents celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Over at Places Restaurant at the Villager Inn, the talented culinary team served crab cakes with mustard sauce, three-cheese Au gratin potatoes and grilled asparagus topped off with smore’s lava cake. The restaurant featured its special on Friday night to coincide with the popular Friday night dance, which is held weekly.

On Monday, the creative chefs at Stories Public House and Metropolitan featured a Valentine Day’s Surf and Turf that included a 6-ounce hand-cut filet with three sautéed shrimp, dauphine potatoes and fresh asparagus.

Across campus, the Courtyard Café team pulled out all the stops! Guests enjoyed live entertainment as they made their way through a three-course dinner. Course one consisted of heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella with aged balsamic, followed by either a petite filet and crab cake pop with a saffron aioli or hand-rolled chicken cordon bleu (The vegetarian option was ratatouille.) All entrees were served with wild rice and grilled asparagus. Finally, the meal closed with a sinfully decadent dessert.

“Our talented chefs and kitchen teams work hard every day to create delicious and memorable meals for our residents, associates and other guests,” said Todd Hollander, director of dining services and events. “But give them a special holiday or day of celebration and they go all out – it’s amazing how creative they are, and better yet, our residents have a choice of five-star meals without ever having to leave our campus.”
