Exciting Construction Updates at John Knox Village for Early 2025

John Knox Village construction

There’s a lot happening at John Knox Village, and 2025 promises to be an exciting year as many projects near completion. Eric Scott, director of operations and development, shares some of the latest updates on several projects happening across the campus. Here’s what’s in progress:

E Building

Progress on the new E Building is moving along beautifully! The wood framing work is complete, including the atrium connection to other buildings in the Courtyard Complex. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) rough-ins are well underway throughout the building, and we are hanging drywall on the 4th Floor.

The window installation is nearing completion, with patio and balcony doors also being installed. Outside, masons continue to add brickwork as windows are finished. Plus, the west parking lot has been upgraded with additional stalls, fresh striping, and new light poles for added convenience and safety.

Dog Park

The dog park is all but complete! Residents and their furry friends will soon enjoy concrete sidewalks, comfortable benches, water fountains, and more. The team is working with vendors to install the auto gate operators and donation pavers and anticipate those final touches will be finished soon.

Village Clubhouse

Big things are on the way for the Village Clubhouse! Permits have been secured for the new clubhouse building, which will feature two indoor pickleball courts and a spacious community room. And the new outdoor pool is well underway!

Harmon Construction is leading the clubhouse build, while Ground Zero Pools is building the pool project. Both contractors are ready to begin work following a pre-construction meeting with the city in late December. We can’t wait to see this space come to life!

Occupational Therapy Clinic at the Village Care Center

Renovations are underway to transform the 400 units at the Village Care Center into an Outpatient Therapy and Parkinson’s treatment center. Structural modifications by Harkrader Construction are complete, and the team is currently working on electrical and plumbing demo as well as MEP rough-ins.

With final design decisions made, the project is moving full steam ahead. This center will provide an invaluable resource for therapy and specialized care for residents and the surrounding community.

Villa Program

The Villa Program is buzzing with activity! Phases 10, 11, and 12 are all in various stages of design and construction.

Phase 10: Seven units are on track for February move-ins.
Phase 11: Concrete and framing work is making great progress, despite the weather.
Phase 12: Units have been abated and are scheduled for demolition in late-January, with construction set to begin in April.
