Village Assisted Living at John Knox Village and their three Village Assisted Living Memory Care neighborhoods in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, are excited to announce that they recently passed their 2026 state inspections with zero deficiencies. This is the best score an assisted living facility can receive, demonstrating that Village Assisted Living is consistently providing the highest level of care to residents “in an optimum environment.”

And this is not the first time! It is their 8th deficiency-free survey in recent years..

“This is an exceptional achievement and a direct reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the Village Assisted Living and Memory Care teams,” Administrator Samantha Gladney said. “I am incredibly grateful for their hard work, as well as for the continued support from all John Knox Village departments, not only in ensuring these state surveys run smoothly and successfully, but in teamwork that leads to outcomes that truly reflect the quality of care we provide.”

Inspections are conducted by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services in accordance with strict guidelines administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. These surveys evaluate policies and procedures, resident care, quality of care and quality of life, medication administration, medical records, kitchen sanitation, staff competencies, dietary needs, equipment, safety, and overall wellness of the community.

Surveyors arrive unannounced and observe care and procedures for several days. The survey process also includes interviews with residents, residents’ family members, and staff.
