2026 John Knox Village Gala: Music and Memories
Both music and fashion have a remarkable way of bringing memories rushing back—no matter the decade. From the charm of a rockin’ 1950s poodle skirt to the groove of 1970s disco and the bold optimism of Y2K style and sound, each era carries a soundtrack that tells our story.
This year’s gala, Music and Memories through the Decades on September 19, invites you to celebrate the songs, styles and moments that shaped our lives, while benefitting the most vulnerable individuals in our care – residents of Village Care Center Memory Care.
There are a lot of changes planned for the Memory Care unit. We want to create home-like areas for activities, dining and socializing. We plan to put up tactile artwork and customizable memory boxes to help with orientation and wayfinding. We hope to install therapeutic circadian lighting to support healthy sleep patterns, reduce anxiety and encourage positive interactions. These enhancements will stimulate the senses, promote relaxation and support individualized care – benefiting our residents as well as their families and the dedicated staff who care for them every day.
Celebrating 10 years of exciting events, we expect to host more than 600 attendees from the Greater Kansas City area and beyond. The evening will include a silent auction, live auction, dinner, games and live music provided by Kansas City’s own MultiPhonic.
