John Knox Village Unveils New Promotional Campaign

John Knox Village’s marketing department has unveiled a new promotional campaign to help individuals who live in the Kansas City Metropolitan area learn more about what life is like for Village residents.

The “Growing Your Way” campaign launched in mid-July.

“We are very excited about this campaign because it helps introduce people to the wonderful array of services and amenities that our residents enjoy and use here at the Village,” said Karen Burec, manager of marketing and communications. “We really wanted to emphasize our residents’ spirit of camaraderie and overall joy, and I think we captured it perfectly with the ads.”

The campaign consists of ads that were created for multiple mediums.

  • Print Advertising: An ad (right) that features lease promotional pricing and an invitation for people to stop by to learn about the Village is running every Wednesday during the month of July in The Kansas City Star.
  • Television Appearances: Tracey Wenson, manager of sales, represented the Village on two television news shows, including “Kansas City Live” on KSHB 41 and KCTV 5’s “Better Kansas City.”
  • Television Advertisements: The Village is running two ads – one for The Meadows and another more general ad about the Village as a whole – on channels 5, 12 and 41 and cable television channels. “It will be nice to be back on TV this year since we didn’t run any television spots in 2016 because of the Olympics and political elections,” Karen said.
  • Online Presence: The Village also launched a new web page (below) to track campaign traffic. Located at, the page will help connect people who are interested in The Meadows and D Building/Courtyard Complex to the Village.

After quite a lengthy departure from billboard advertising, the Village is running a series of three ads on a digital billboard located in a high-traffic area of Lee’s Summit.

The three ads currently running promote Village Home Health as well as career opportunities in nursing and foodservice. The billboard is located at the crossroads of highways 470 and 291, which – with thousands of cars that drive by every day – is a highly visible and desirable location.

“Using a digital billboard to advertise is a great way for the Village to stay on top of everyone’s mind when they are considering a new job or in need of the services we offer,” said Karen Burec, manager of marketing and communication.
