Independent living salons are set to reopen starting Monday, June 1.
The salon services team has been working to establish procedures based on information from the state board of cosmetology, some of which are above and beyond what is required. This includes retraining associates, conducting a deep cleaning of each salon and removing non-essential furniture and items in the salons. The stylists also will be disinfecting after each client.
The salons will only offer cut-and-color services at this time. All clients need to come to appointments with dry/clean hair. There will be no blow dry services at this time.
Residents with a previously scheduled appointment have been contacted. Beginning Tuesday, May 26, all other Village residents will be able to schedule an appointment through the concierge desk by calling 347-2405. Because of the effort to serve residents as quickly as possible, residents may or may not get an appointment with their regular stylist. However, we will do our best to accommodate everyone.
There is no waiting allowed in the salons. Residents are asked not to arrive more than five minutes prior to their appointment time. There will not be a seating area. There will be a screening process prior to entering the salon, including a series of questions which will be asked and your temperature taken. You are required to wear a face covering when coming to the salon. There will be extra masks at the salon if one is needed. The salons are limited to two clients at a time. And, of course, clients are asked to maintain a social distance of six feet. If you are not feeling well, please stay home.
Village Salon and Courtyard Salon will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; Country Club Salon, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Saturdays. Residents who live in apartment complexes with a salon will be required to use that salon. Those who don’t have a salon in their complex or must go outside to get to a salon will be required to use the Village Salon.
Please note that this plan could change between now and June 1 if guidelines and restrictions from governing authorities change.
