A continuing care retirement community in Lee’s Summit, Mo., John Knox Village is truly a community within a community. Because of the immense scope and size of our organization, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for both Village residents and individuals who live in the surrounding community. Independent Living/Residential Care
Our volunteers have multiple opportunities to contribute their time and talents throughout our campus. Have a creative streak? Help out with our arts and crafts programs. Enjoy people? John Knox Village Auxiliary
The John Knox Village Auxiliary is a volunteer-run organization with a mission to serve the John Knox Village community. It operates the Thrift Shop and the four other Auxiliary stores, which are located around the Village campus. Individuals help customers, stock shelves, prepare merchandise for sale, create beautiful quilts and much more.

Village Care Center
More than 100 people of varying ages, backgrounds and beliefs make a difference in the lives of Village Care Center residents, associates and other volunteers. They serve in a variety of areas, including the beauty shop, ice cream parlor, offices, physical therapy and more. Volunteers also assist with resident activities, and meet and visit with residents, among other service opportunities.

Village Hospice of John Knox Village
Hospice volunteers play an important role in assuring quality of life for hospice patients. Along with a warm and caring attitude, each volunteer brings a unique set of life experiences and skills to use in working with patients and families. Our volunteers provide a variety of services, from offering simple companionship, such as listening, playing games or just sitting quietly, to arranging flowers or helping with office work.
