Why someone should move to the Village

Joan Hall

I’ve lived here 17 years, and it has been wonderful. I’ve got the best friends here. This is such caring and friendly place to call home. I met two ladies when I came to tour those many years ago, and we’ve been friends ever since. They are like family to me – I meet one of them each Saturday for breakfast.

To me, one of the best things about the Village is there are so many things going on and it’s entirely up to you what you do. Nobody is pushing you to do anything you don’t want to do. I used to go to the fitness center, but now I just don’t have time. I’m doing things I’ve never done before, like the woodworking shop. I’ve built several things – even a rocking horse for my great grandson. The men there are wonderful. I also teach a quilting class.

The lifestyle here was what drew me to the Village. I was very thoughtful when I made my decision, but I was sold once I saw my home. Besides the activities, having a maintenance free home is wonderful. And the maintenance and grounds people are the nicest people, and do such a great job.

Having the continuum of care, especially the assisted living is very important. Like my eldest son said, “Now I know I don’t have to worry about you.” It’s comforting to know I will never have to leave the Village.
