The Village Hospice team, which includes oversight provided by our hospice-trained medical director, provides guidance and encouragement while partnering with your loved one’s physician. In addition to making scheduled visits to evaluate your loved one’s condition, provide care instruction, answer questions and offer support to caregivers; a registered nurse is available 24 hours a day.
- The hospice nurse coordinates the plan of care by carefully assessing the patient’s condition, arranging for medication and equipment and teaching comfort measures.
- Hospice home health aides assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming and oral hygiene.
- Physical and occupational therapy is available, as needed, for patient comfort.
- Sophisticated methods of pain and symptom control are available to enable your loved one to live as fully and pain-free as possible.
Because hospice care focuses on the patient’s comfort and quality of life, management of pain is an important part of our services. We know that frustration, anxiety, stress and depression can magnify pain, so your hospice nurse will work with you and your loved one’s physician to maintain both physical and emotional comfort.
