The hospice team strives to meet each person’s unique emotional and spiritual needs, working through the many factors surrounding death. We are successful because the entire team – from our administrative staff to our nurses to our chaplain – makes great efforts to form trusting relationships that are meaningful to you, your loved one and to outside caregivers, such as doctors.
- Social workers counsel patients and families and introduce them to a number of community resources to assist with emotional needs, funeral arrangements, financial concerns, legal matters and more.
- Non-denominational chaplains are available to provide comfort and support as patients and families explore spiritual concerns.
- Trained volunteers offer practical assistance as well as companionship and understanding.
- Pet therapy provides comfort in a way that words cannot.
- Family members receive benefits, such as crisis management and emotional and spiritual support. Hospice provides grief support to bereaved family members for at least 13 months after the patient’s death.
