The John Knox Village Home Health Agency recently introduced its newest and most high-tech care tool, telemonitoring. With telemonitoring, our patients receive a three-minute checkup every day in the comfort of their own homes through a telecommunications device that records and reports vital signs. The data is then transmitted via a telephone line for review by home health agency clinicians, who are able to catch any irregularities that may pop up between scheduled nurse visits.
 Another high-tech tool Home Health offers our patients is the personal medication system. For those who need to manage a variety of pills, doses and schedules, the medication system can be program to dispense medications automatically. If your medication is not taken after multiple reminders, the system’s built-in monitoring capability will send notices to family or friends automatically.
