Because The Children’s Village is located on the campus of John Knox Village, we have access to a variety of activities not available at many other child care facilities. For example:
- Swimming in both indoor and outdoor pools
- Bowling
- Cultivating flower and vegetable gardens
- Learning at a computer lab
- Walking around a 450-acre campus and enjoying park-like settings
- Attending associate events
- Hosting parties for Village residents, parents and grandparent
What’s more, intergenerational activities are an important component of The Children’s Village curriculum. We believe that this interaction provides many positive benefits for both the children and the residents of John Knox Village. Near-daily interactions with John Knox Village residents can include story time, art activities, neighborhood walks and more.

Specifically designed for pre-school aged children, the Stretch-N-Grow Physical Fitness Program teaches children to enjoy exercise and the importance of good health habits. Stretch-N-Grow is an international program that strives to make physical fitness and good health a lifelong habit.
Families do not have to pay enrollment or material fees. Weekly tuition fees cover the cost of breakfast, lunch and snack.
John Knox Village Associates: Rates are based on a sliding-fee scale.
Surrounding Community Members: The rate paid by community members is comparable to other programs located in and around Lee’s Summit.
