At John Knox Village, making a difference in lives is our primary goal. We measure the success of our organization, as a whole, by the degree to which we are carrying this out.
To enrich the lives of older adults through community living. “Enriching lives, building community.”
- Making an older person’s life better?
- Creating opportunities for them to connect with others and to build relationships?
- Delivering the best quality service possible?
Are people’s lives better because of their connection to me and to the Village?
This is our work. The money, buildings, activities and programs serve their greatest purpose when we are enriching someone’s life. And at John Knox Village there is not any more important work.
- To be the leader among senior living communities in the greater Kansas City area.
- We value older adults and their importance in our society.
- We foster an environment that nourishes supportive, trusting and caring relationships with our residents, their families and our associates.
- We promote a community that encourages meaningful involvement and personal fulfillment.
- We value business practices that promote careful stewardship of all resources – human, physical and financial.
- We encourage active involvement in the local communities in which we operate
We developed our RESPECT in Action customer service philosophy as a way to ensure that our business culture reflected our core values. By providing associates with strategies to guide how they interact with those they serve, be it resident, patient, customer, client or co-worker, we now have a common set of tools to help create the kind of relationships that keep people coming back to John Knox Village and inspire them to tell others. RESPECT in Action places a consistent focus on building positive relationships using communication, empathy and trust.
A healthy community does not consist of one or two age groups, but embraces the entire spectrum of ages, races, beliefs and abilities. At John Knox Village, this is a way of life. The people who live here encompass three generations, and the people who work here represent FIVE generations. Through our diversity initiatives and our Harmony at Work Committee, we actively encourage interactions between associates, residents and the kids whenever possible.
Differences are what make our community richer. (Of course, we are an Equal Opportunity employer.) Whether a resident or associate, we can each learn and grow from each others' experiences. It makes everyone’s life richer.
We are looking for people who share this commitment to serving older adults with respect, dignity and care. If this sounds like a motivating work environment, we invite you to see our Career Opportunities. If you see something you like, review our benefits, then apply online today! |
