Q. What is the Village Care Center?

A. John Knox Village's Care Center is a skilled nursing facility with more than 400 beds, located on the John Knox Village campus. We provide on-site 24-hour professional health care, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services, an Alzheimer's Unit, a Medicare Certified Unit, an Adult Day program, and Respite Care. For more than 30 years, the Village Care Center has provided excellence in long-term care to members of the community and Village residents.

Q. Are you fully licensed?

A. Yes. The Village Care Center is licensed by the State of Missouri and is Medicare and Medicaid certified.

Q. Is this just another cold, clinical nursing home?

A. No! At John Knox Village, we go to great lengths to ensure that residents in the Village Care Center have a warm, caring and interesting environment that feels as much like home as possible. We provide many social opportunities, ranging from organized activities to a variety of community spaces where residents can spend time together. We’ve even color-coordinated the various sections of the care center to help our residents learn their way around and easily recognize which part of the building they are in.

• 37-bed Alzheimer's Unit
• 107-bed Medicare Unit
• Full rehabilitative program staffed by licensed therapists (inpatient and outpatient)

• State-of-the-art fitness equipment
• Suites, semi-private and private rooms
• Three meals per day including therapeutic diets
• Chapel
• Old-fashioned ice cream parlor, featuring a large aquarium, bird aviary and sunroom

Q. What Respite Care services do you offer?

A. Our Respite Care Program provides you with a much-needed break from daily care-giving responsibilities. We provide 24-hour nursing services on-site at the Village Care Center for one night, or for several nights, when caregivers simply need to take some time for themselves.
